First, The classification of Pellet Mill,

1. By forming principle

It can be divided into extrusion type and compression type.

2. By structural features

It can be divided into screw type (belongs to extrusion type, mainly used for the production of soft particles) and pressure die. Pressure die is divided into flat die and ring die. Flat Die Pellet Mill are generally small machines with the simple structure, and easy to manufacture. Low degree of automation, supporting power is generally under 30KW, the maximum output is about 1t/h. They are suitable for individual farmers in rural use. The biggest disadvantage of flat die is that the outside die hole and the inside die hole working parameters (such as linear speed) are inconsistent. The larger the difference in the radius of the die hole, the greater the difference in the parameters, and the difference in the quality of the inner and outer particles. In the actual production process, the flat die pellet mill with gear drive has replaced the flat die pellet mill with belt drive. Its equipment appearance is more compact, torque transmission effect is better, more mainstream in the market. Ring Die Pellet Mill is the most widely used equipment which is the key equipment to make granule from powder. The power consumption of pelleting process is high, usually between 10~20 KW.h/t.

Second, The structure of ring die pellet mill,

It consists of three parts:

1. Feeder

Most feeders use screw feeders. It is composed of packing auger shaft, spiral blade, housing, bearing, reducer, frequency conversion motor and frequency conversion control instrument. The packing auger adopts variable pitch structure, and the variable frequency controller will adjust the speed of the packing auger according to the quantity produced.

2. Modulator

The modulator adopts the form of blade - type Screw Conveyor. The time of the material in the modulator can be controlled from the angle of the blade. The blades have a faster speed and an impact on the material, so that the materials and a small amount of steam are exposed and stirred, and quickly absorb the heat and moisture of the steam. And can make the temperature of material and moisture get rise, have the effect of bate thereby. The modulator is made up of the shaft, the blades, the outer shell, the steam added to the mouth, the bearings, the transmission systems and so on. The length of the modulator may be lengthened as required. The maximum number of modulator layers can be increased to three.

3. The main machine of ring die pellet mill

The main machine of ring die pellet mill is composed of feed door, ring die, cutter, transmission system, overload protection system and lubrication system and the pelleting chamber consisting of a press roller. According to the different forms of transmission, it can be divided into gear transmission and belt transmission. Belt drive can be divided into single motor drive and double motor drive. The large belt drive ring die is a low speed, and some of them have a secondary belt drive, and the second grade is a low-speed drive with a tooth-belt drive.
